TRAVIS TAMERIUS
Raleigh, NC | PathNorth member since 2025
Travis Tamerius grew up in Hannibal, Missouri - America’s hometown” - on the story-soaked streets made famous by Mark Twain. He earned degrees in History and Religious Studies from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia.
For over twenty years, Travis has taught humanities at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, where he founded Woods Around the World, a global studies program that has led hundreds of travelers to every continent on programs of cultural immersion and service-learning. To make international travel more accessible for students, he also created Project 123, a donor-funded initiative in which students contribute 123 hours of community service to support local agencies.
A lifelong educator, Travis speaks and leads workshops on building lives of meaning and purpose, harnessing the power of storytelling in life and work, and globalizing student experience through educational travel.
He now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife, Dr. Aimee Sapp, President of Meredith College. A passionate traveler, he enjoys meeting new people, getting lost in unfamiliar cities, and exploring the world. He also loves live music, hiking with his dogs Brandy and Aspen, sports, photography, writing poetry and prose, and mentoring young people.
