A graduate of the College of Charleston, Patty entered real estate as a sales associate in 1977 with what is now Carolina One Real Estate Services. Over the years, the company operated under various names due to mergers and franchise affiliations and has grown to become the largest real estate company in South Carolina. Serving in various leadership roles throughout her career, Patty became the majority shareholder in the privately held company in 2006 and served as CEO and President. As she transitioned the leadership of the real estate company, Patty decided that “repurpose” was a more appropriate next phase of life than “retire”. With a passion for purpose and making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, Bridge North Charleston (BNC) emerged. BNC is a non-profit organization whose mission is the holistic revitalization of an underserved North Charleston Community. Among its initiatives is creating the opportunity for subsidized affordable homeownership opportunities.
