Ray Dorman was born in Washington, DC and raised in Chevy Chase, MD.
He recently held executive positions with Marriott Vacations Worldwide based in Orlando, FL where he was engaged in resort development around the world. His responsibilities spanned demand generation, travel procurement, M&A, and product design. This included the spin-off of MVW into stand-alone NYSE public company valued at $3.2B and the launch of points based real estate ownership product in the US and Europe.
Before joining MVW, Ray held executive positions with Swisscom and several technology startups where he focused on business planning and raising capital. This included the acquisition and integration of Core Communications by Swisscom in the U.S. He also has significant experience at Marriott International in loyalty marketing programs, cobrand credit cards, brand licensing and acquisitions. This included the launch of Marriott’s loyalty program, now Bonvoy by Marriott, which has grown to 220m members. He also developed and launched Marriott’s cobrand credit card, generating more than $200m in annual fee-based income.
Additionally, Ray served as development officer for the Cato Institute in Washington, DC with an annual fundraising goal of $18m. With his broad responsibilities, he has been active in the hospitality business in the US, Europe, the Far East, the Americas and Africa with a focus on forging partnerships, multi-million-dollar procurement relationships and co-marketing agreements across a diverse range of travel businesses including major global airlines, banks, cruise lines, car hire and tour providers.
