The 2016 Get-Together in Chamonix
Last month, a small group of PathNorth members, fearlessly led by Strategic Adviser Adam Kaufman, traveled to Chamonix, France and Geneva, Switzerland for The 2016 Get-Together. This dynamic gathering brought together leaders from every corner of the globe to have conversations centered on mindfulness and discovery. In our increasing digital world, The Get-Together provides face-to-face encounters to question, challenge, and ponder the variety of issues facing our world today.
Below, Adam muses on his time at The Get-Together and the incredible experience that occurs when you bring together a group of PathNorthers.
Only in PathNorth...
...can we look down on the clouds and look up to so many inspiring speakers, in the awe-inspiring setting of Mont Blanc, including:
- A Gold Medal skier sharing about dedication to one's goals
- World famous photographer, Louie Schwartzberg, sharing his beautiful work on Gratitude, watched more than 5 million times on YouTube
- PathNorth founding member, Steve Case on technology and his coming Third Wave
Some of the world's most-respected minds led us through discussions on security; race; the future of Europe, and the past of the Middle East.
Attendees at this Get-Together came from India, the Ivory Coast, Russia, New Zealand, and throughout Europe...along with our 14 PathNorthian Americans, all of us gaining perspective from lenses other than our own.
The breathtaking Mont Blanc setting somehow bound us all even closer to one another...hard to explain, how 'setting' can facilitate deeper, more meaningful 'connectivity' among those of us traveling together. But it surely did.
Our closing night conversations included admissions like "PathNorth for life;" even tears of gratitude, and commitments to be together again.
Perhaps this reflection best sums up our time together: "Yes Indeed we have truly achieved a remarkable new community in just 5 days. Deep sharing, belly laughing, late night drinks, fondue, a cigar or two, knocked-out beauty of venue and persons...can it really get any better?" - Dirk Jungé, Chairman of Pitcairn and founding member of PathNorth
